Matt's Bakery is owned and run by Matthew and Mindy Cooper. Matthew has an Associates Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island, and has many years of work experience in the corporate, supermarket, and retail bakery setting. Mr. Cooper had a bakery in Worcester, Massachusetts for five years. After marriage to his wife Mindy, a native of Columbus, Mr. Cooper decided to move the bakery to Columbus in hopes of increasing business due to the larger community. In December of 2011, Matt's Bakery moved into Kroger Town and Country (3675 E. Broad St.).
Matt’s Bakery is a full service kosher bakery. The business is open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.
All of the baked goods are milk and dairy-free (eggs are used in the baking). The baked goods are also nut free (except for the pecan pie which is made completely separate).
Gluten Free items are produced in a facility that handles wheat and are therefore not certified gluten free.
All of the bakery items are parve and are under the Kosher Supervision of the Vaad Hoir of Columbus.
